Cleaning Operative

Reports to: Contracts Supervisor/Manager
Location: London – Field Based
Pay Rate: £9 – £11.05

Overall summary of the role:

To ensure an effective and efficient operation of cleaning services within the area allocated. This job description sets out the duties of the post at the time when it was drawn up. Such duties may vary from time to time without changing the general character of the duties or the level of responsibility. Such variations are a common occurrence and cannot themselves justify a change in the role.

Key areas of work

Responsibilities:

  • To clean designated communal areas (incl. vacuum cleaning, dusting etc) according to the agreed schedules.
  • To empty and wash all wastepaper bins and to replenish them with new bin liner if necessary, according to the cleaning schedule.
  • To clean all bathrooms and toilets within the allocated area and to replenish all consumables.
  • To clean all kitchens incl. microwave daily.
  • To deep clean fridge in the allocated area weekly.
  • To clean all corridors and common rooms within the allocated area incl. vacuum cleaning and wall marks removal
  • To maintain all cleaning to the agreed schedules and standards.
  • To always keep the cleaning area clean and tidy (incl. cleaner’s cupboards) and to keep the cleaning materials safety stored.
  • To ensure that all rooms are left locked with the windows closed and all the lights turned off.
  • To liaise with the supervisor to deal effectively with any situation.
  • To report any maintenance issues found out to the Supervisor (such as light bulb replacements, leaking washing basin etc.).
  • To hand in any property found and to report any incident or accident.
  • To look after employer’s and client’s property.
  • To wear required uniform and protective equipment provided.
  • To carry out any additional tasks as directed by the supervisor.

Mobile Team Leader

Role: Mobile Team Leader

Overall summary of the role:

As a Mobile team leader, you will deliver quality service to contract cleaning business in accordance with Serna Cleaning procedures and specification. Your role will include: To provide support to all sites in order to achieve the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene of the day-to-day operation of all sites to ensure achievement of KPIs for customer service and contract delivery with management of supervisors and cleaning operatives. 

Key areas of work 

  • Provide operational support ensuring that all requirements of a contract are met.
  • Action all requests/corrective action
  • Ensure management is kept fully informed of any issues that evolve on sites, as necessary
  • Supervise directly employed staff – Site Supervisors and Cleaning Operatives and act as a line manager.
  • Flexible – deliver hands-on support and able to meet short-notice demands.

Responsibilities

  • Action e-mails/telephone requests, implement corrective measures recorded and signed off
  • To ensure compliance with company policies
  • Carry out risk assessments as required in accordance with Health and Safety Regulations
  • Carry out regular site cleaning inspections and reviews while recording and follow up findings.
  • Monitor condition of equipment, organise repairs/replacements as appropriate to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order, checked regularly and serviced – report to client’s office.

  • Liaise with Contracts Manager with reference to relevant issues such as training, maintenance of equipment and records.
  • Take part in trainings as required and attend regular management meetings, record and follow up
  • Occasional tasks from the office at the discretion of the management and any additional ad-hoc duties as required.

Rope Access Technician

Role: IRATA Level 2 & 3 Rope Access Technician
Contract: Full-time

Location: Field based

Overall summary of the role:

To provide the highest levels of cleanliness and hygiene to our company standards, within the contract specification.

This is an integral role within the business, providing window cleaning and maintenance services via rope access abseil to buildings throughout.

Responsibilities:

  • To carry out works scheduled by the supervisor or line manager in a timely, safe manor.
  • Be aware of the condition of the equipment to ensure that all equipment is in safe working order, checked regularly, and serviced. Report any faults to supervisor/ management.
  • Comply with all Company & Client policies and statutory regulations relating to Health &
  • Safety, safe working practices hygiene, cleanliness, fire and COSHH. This will include your awareness of any specific hazards in your workplace. Follow client/company guidelines with regards to the identification and reporting of health and safety hazards e.g., blocked/locked fire doors.
  • Report any customer complaints or compliments and take some remedial action if at all possible. Report immediately any incidents of accident, fire, theft, loss, damage or other irregularities to the Line Manager/ supervisor.
  • Going the Extra Mile’ attitude.

Tiler (tiling - wall & floor)

Serna FM is looking for more tiling teams to join our company (individual tilers are also welcome) experience wall & floor Tilers, Full-time, or subcontract.

NVQ in tiling is an advantage but not necessary.

All applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Speak fluent English,
  • Be a problem solver and be able to work under pressure,
  • Trustworthy, friendly, and very punctual
  • UK full driving license,
  • Good knowledge of building regulations and best practices
  • Precision tiling with tidy cuts

Handyman

Role: Handyman
Contract: Full-time

Overall summary of the role:

To ensure the client premises are maintained to a high level by undertaking basic electrical, mechanical, plumbing and fabric maintenance duties, including general handyperson works. In addition, to complete PPM works, reactive response works, and statutory testing as delegated by the client or line manager. Ensure all work is completed safely and recommend additional chargeable pieces where appropriate. The work will routinely require working from steps, ladders, and scaffold systems. It will also involve working with a wide range of hand tools and power tools safely and proficiently.

Responsibilities:

  • Weekly & monthly planned maintenance tasks as scheduled (fire alarm tests, water temperature recording, emergency lighting tests, etc.)
  • First line response to reactive repairs.
  • Relamping of defective luminaries.
  • Minor building fabric repairs.
  • Minor decorating tasks.
  • Minor plumbing repairs.
  • Other general cleaning or janitorial duties as requested.
  • Adhoc porterage duties (moves & changes, furniture management & moves, etc.).
  • Maintain accurate documentation of all assigned work orders.
  • Comply fully with Health, Safety & Environmental policies.
  • Provide excellent customer service to building occupants, ensuring they are made aware of work order progress in a timely manner.
  • Proactively walk the floors, reporting any maintenance or H&S issues to the helpdesk and appropriate manager.
  • Participation in standby rota for emergency calls, outside normal working hours.
  • Assist all trades within the team and through the correct training be able to complete tasks away from your core skills.
  • Responsible for the upkeep of the estate, including general maintenance tasks.
  • Adhere and upkeep to the high standards of quality in service delivery at all times
  • Be aware of delivery of required activities in specific end user environment
  • Ensure all activities are delivered in compliance with statutory obligations and health and safety legal requirements and best practice
  • Responsible for the care and condition of all company vehicles, equipment and tools issued for use in multi-trade activities, completing all pre and post safety checks as required
